Another Adventure in London

We are fascinated the curving buildings you see in London. This picture was taken at Piccadilly Circus.

The taxi cabs are just so darn cute!!!

One of the gates at Buckingham Palace. While it is magnificent on the outside, it was easy to see why the Queen prefers Windsor Castle.

A large and beautiful fountain at the front of Buckingham Palace.

A close-up of the center of the fountain.

THE window where we have seen so many pictures of the Royal family. I will always remember Princess Diana and Prince Charles standing there on their wedding day.

A memorial to Princess Diana on the sidewalk right outside the palace gate close to the fountain.

A full picture of Buckingham Palace. I could not get one directly across from it.

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap is the longest running play in London. It is in its 57th year. The performance we saw was the 23,558th at St. Martin's Theatre.

We headed back into London yesterday, Tuesday, June 9. We fully intended to see the changing of the Guards at Buckingham, but the traffic going into London was worse than it had been any other time going into the city. Instead, we walked around Trafalgar Square, walked to Piccadilly Square and walked on over to Buckingham to at least get some pictures.
The performance of The Mousetrap was so good!! We both enjoy a good mystery and trying to figure out who the villain really is. Neither one of us got this one! Our tickets were beside 2 Americans from Georgia. He was a WWII veteran here with a group of WWII veterans to commemorate the 65th anniversary of D-Day. They were a delight to meet. I so enjoyed talking to them before the show started.
And miracle of all miracles, we got in and out of London with only a slight misturn AND got back into Oxford with no problem at all!!!!! We followed our own intuition rather than the directions getting back into Oxford. As we walked the mile back to the flat from our parking area, I thanked the Lord over and over.
Still trying to figure out why my blog is not publishing correctly. Thanks for continuing to read despite it being jumbled at times and spaces not being where they should be. I have asked several blogger friends and no one seems to know the answer. But thanks for staying with me.
Please continue to pray for our safety in travel and for our sons. I also have a special prayer request. Please also pray for me as I fight an infection. I do NOT want to go do the doctor over here.

  1. Did you get Jordan one of the big fuzzy guard hats yet??? I tried to get him to take Chloe to the Bark in the Park at the Bats game last night, but he has no sense of adventure.
