Trooping of the Colour 2009, June 13

This was a member of the police force that stood guard in front of our section of the crowd. He was very friendly and funny. We enjoyed talking to him as well as the English family that stood beside us.
Not really sure what this group's official title is, but they were impressive as they marched by.

The parade this year featured all things Irish. This is part of the Honor Guard who lead the parade.

The mascot.

The horses were absolutely beautiful! This was a day of pageantry and splendor unlike anything I have ever seen before.

Check out the fire-power on these guys! And I thought the security guard that boarded our bus in DC had some power!

The Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla) and Prince William

Prince Harry, who was also in the carriage with his brother. I could not get a picture of the two of them together.

Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne

The Royal Guard that proceeded the Queen.

Her Majesty the Queen and the Earl of Edinburgh
I am so glad we were able to experience this. We had to leave Oxford early on Saturday morning in order to get there in time to get a decent place to stand. We got there between 8:30 and 9:00 and the crowd was just beginning to arrive. Being first timers, we were not sure where to stand and did not pick the best location. However, I am glad we were there. We left there and head out of town. Due to the number of pictures I took Saturday through Tuesday, I will not be posting by day, but rather by events.
